| Lottery Boost for Pupils
Hundreds of school children within Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh and Winchester are to benefit from a £75,960 grant awarded to the Toynbee School Sport Partnership. Alternative fitness, basketball, badminton, dance, golf and lunchtime ‘Active Play’ sessions are some of the exciting new activities on offer that hope to encourage more young people to take part in physical activity.
Lisa Binney, Partnership Development Manager for the Toynbee School Sport Partnership , said: “We are delighted with the grant which will open up many new opportunities for pupils. The aim is to encourage and motivate young people who would not normally participate in physical activity or sports-based activities. The projects are based on specific target groups and will focus on providing a comfortable and inspiring learning environment. We are very excited at the prospect of using physical activity and sport to help improve young peoples’ self-esteem and overall well-being.”
